今週は「誕生日めでたいなお彼岸スペシャル」。
英語バージョン付です。

There was a guy in his car who had just violate a traffic rule
at the corner of the crossing on Sepluveda st. and Pico Blv.
in Los Angels. He had made a ”U” turn on the crossing which
had the sign of ”No 'U' Turn”. Unfortunately, he got arrested
by a police officer on that corner.
Officer ”You violate the traffic regulation. You are not permitted
to make a fully turn on this corner. ”
The guy ”Oh! I don't make a ”U” turn but a left turn! But the sign
says anything about the left turn!”
Officer ”My goodness! You'r tring to cheat me? I've just seen you!
I've got no mistake!”
The guy ”What a hell are you talking about! I've just made a left turn!”
Officer ”NO!! YOU TURN!!!”

現在では奈良の東大寺といえば大仏殿が有名だが、最初の東大寺は
屋根もない本堂に、小さな仏像があるだけの山寺だった。
しかしその仏像はご利益が顕著で、たいへんありがたがられていた。
しかもその仏像に直接さわるとなおあらたかで、寺の制止にかかわらず
皆さわりたがった。業を煮やした寺の坊主達は、「仏像にはさわるな。」
と書いた立て札をその仏像の横に建てるよう子坊主に申し付けたが、
これが大変不評を呼んだ。皆、「横暴寺」、「高慢寺」等とののしった。
不思議に思った住職は立て札を見にいった。そこにはこう書いてあった。
「さわるな。ぶつぞう。」
